Fluoride Gas Removal
Toxic fluoride gas fumes given off when producing phosphate fertilisers must be captured and scrubbed before the gas stream can be released to atmosphere. Armatec has developed fluoride scrubbing technology to the highest degree, achieving stack emissions less than 5 milligrams of fluoride per cubic metre. These meet the strictest standards in New Zealand and around the world. Our designs feature the ability to handle silica deposition with low pressure drop and operational flexibility; in advanced systems the fluoride captured is recycled to the den. All equipment is Armatec manufactured in fibreglass to handle the corrosive gases and liquors involved.
Featured Projects
Fluoride fumes given off in the manufacture of SSP (single super phosphate) fertiliser are extremely toxic and must be scrubbed. The current scrubbers at the plant were limiting fertiliser production, to the point of determining the rate at which the plant could run and when it could run.
